NYC – Upper East Side near Central Park #2 The Reservoir

THIS IS PART OF SEVERAL POSTS THAT WILL HIGHLIGHT THE AREA ABOVE 86th STREET (mostly eastside).

Many visitors come to NYC never go beyond 72nd street and a few probably go up to around 86th street. For those who venture above 86th street, there is much to see and enjoy.

The Reservoir

Originally built-in 1860 as a temporary water supply for NYC and named after the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in 1994. This also offers a breathtaking view of Midtown Manhattan skyline.

People talk about:

  • Take a walk around the reservoir at sunset. The view is amazing
  • The most scenic – and flat – loop in Central Park!  The loop is approximately 1.5 miles and filled with sweaty and sexy runners and walkers.
  • One of my all time favorite NYC spots. Gorgeous views. Walk around once…or run.  Beautiful in fall or spring.
  • Love walking here. No bikes, strollers, or dogs allowed. Love it!
