NYC – Free or Almost Free Museums


Most NYC people know about free things… museums are often at the top of their list. many museums offer free or reduced entrance. If you visit, don’t be shy in using this information – it will save you “big bucks.

I took these two pictures inside the Jewish Museum –  Edouard Vuillard French avantgarde artist – which has free admission  on Saturdays

Who doesn’t love to do something free? Check out these New York City museums and cultural institutions that offer free access every day that they are open — confirm hours/days that they’re open to avoid disappointment.
  • American Folk Art Museum
    Admission is always free at the American Folk Art Museum where you can see the 9/11 National Tribute Quilt, as well as temporary exhibits and selections from the Museums’ permanent collection.

  • Forbes Galleries
    Admission is always free to this interesting museum featuring collectibles such as toy soldiers, Monopoly games and more. The Forbes Galleries are open Tuesday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Thursdays are reserved for groups with prior reservations.)
