NYC – The beginning of Christmas 2011

It’s Starting to Look a lot like…

We took our annual walk down 5th avenue yesterday. Actually, we were on our way to a show on 42nd street but we like to see the Rockefeller Tree as they are preparing it for the grand lighting. We will return for a better look at all the store windows (we usually do this around 9pm as the crowds are less and the colors are more vibrant). We didn’t go down to Lord/Taylor s or Macy’s on this walk but will on our next visit as they are traditional Christmas sites.

Some of these pictures show the glare on the windows from the sun but can be dramatically better at night.

We enjoyed watching the skaters at both the Rock as well as Bryant Park. The snowflake (57th st) looked great as did Tiffany’s windows. Of course, we think that the Bergdorf/Goodman windows (58th st) are near museum quality.

So here is a few minute glimpse of 5th avenue the day after Easter
